    DME and Its Future rDME

    What is DME?

  • Dimethyl ether (DME) is a synthetically produced alternative to diesel. Under normal atmospheric conditions, DME is a colorless gas. It is used extensively in the chemical industry and as an aerosol propellant. Dimethyl ether requires about 75 pounds per square inch (psi) of pressure to be in liquid form. Because of this, DME's handling requirements are similar to those of propane.

  • Because of its lack of carbon-to-carbon bonds, using DME as an alternative to diesel can virtually eliminate particulate emissions and potentially negate the need for costly diesel particulate filters. 

    • The Ultimate Goal: rDME

  • Renewable DME is the ultimate goal of our Green Energy Strategy. Using bio-gas, Bio Friends and H&H will produce rDME to achieve carbon neutrality.

    • rDME to Green Hydrogen

    Bio Friends’ Hydrogen Technology, Basic Design( designed by Unitel)

    Bio Friends is developing commercial size of hydrogen production unit with capacity of 50~300Nm3/hr(100~600kg/day) using renewable DME as a fuel

    It will be World’s First rDME to Hydrogen production unit with scale-up technology that can secure system safety and compact size equipment manufacturing package
